It is a historical fact that, as according to the Oxford dictionary of the Christian Church, "Armenians were the first to adopt Christianity officially" in 301 AD through a decree issued by King Drtad III.The Armenian Church is officially called Armenian Apostolic Church, for the very simple reason that Christianity was made known in Armenia by two of the apostles of the Lord, Thaddeus and Bartholomew. Their work was later followed by the sacrifice of many Christians. The Christianization of Armenians or the official adoption of Christianity in Armenia was the first great revolution in the country, aiming at Persia, which, during the 3rd century AD had repeatedly tried to subordinate Armenia and thus enforce the project of conquering all of Asia for its own benefit.
